Glass curtains in Benidorm

Frameless panels of toughened glass that slide along a track and fold flat against the wall. Glass curtains protect a terrace from wind and dust without a single vertical frame in front of the view.

How glass curtains work

Each panel is a sheet of tempered safety glass with no frame on its sides. The panels run in a slim aluminium track at the top and bottom. Slide them along to the end of the run and they swing open one by one and stack neatly against the wall, so the terrace is fully open again. Close them and you have a clear glass wall that cuts the wind dramatically.

Where they work best

  • Balconies and terraces in Benidorm's towers, where you want the sea view unbroken.
  • Nayas and covered porches on villas in La Nucía, Polop and l'Alfàs del Pi.
  • Penthouse terraces in Rincón de Loix and Poniente that catch strong afternoon wind.
  • Bar and restaurant terraces that need to stay open in summer and sheltered in winter.

Straight, angled and curved runs

Few terraces are a simple straight line. We make glass curtain systems that turn corners, follow angled and splayed balcony fronts and run around curved edges, with opening points where they suit the way you use the space. Glass thickness is chosen for the height and exposure of the terrace, and we can add a lockable panel for ground floor and terrace-level properties.

What glass curtains won't do

Glass curtains are designed with small gaps between the panels, so they are not fully watertight or airtight. That's fine for a covered terrace, and the gaps help ventilation in summer. If you want a sealed, insulated room, a framed terrace enclosure is the better option, and we'll tell you honestly which suits your terrace.

Questions we get asked

Are glass curtains safe?

Yes. The panels are toughened safety glass, much stronger than ordinary glass. If one were ever to break, it shatters into small blunt pieces rather than sharp shards.

Do glass curtains need cleaning from outside?

No. Each panel swings open on its own, so both sides can be cleaned from inside the terrace. This is a big plus on high floors.

Can I add blinds?

Yes. Roller or pleated blinds can be fitted inside the glass curtain for shade and privacy.

How quickly can you fit them?

Glass is cut to order, so allow three to four weeks from measuring. Fitting a typical balcony takes half a day to a day.
